Mimika Regency, Central Papua (2012–2016)
Implemented by Yayasan Pembangunan Citra Insan Indonesia in collaboration with Freeport-McMoRan through LPMAK
The Tapare Pararoko Program was an integrated community empowerment initiative implemented by Yayasan Pembangunan Citra Insan Indonesia (YPCII) as part of its commitment to improving community welfare in the areas of social development, economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. The program was carried out across 15 villages located in the Mimika Barat, Amar, and Mimika Tengah districts of Mimika Regency, Central Papua.
During its implementation from 2012 to 2016, the program directly benefited 1,145 households and approximately 4,737 individuals. Through a community-based and participatory approach, YPCII strengthened local capacity through various initiatives, including economic empowerment programs, access to basic education and healthcare, institutional development, and sustainable community assistance.
By promoting the principles of inclusivity, sustainability, and respect for local cultural values, the program was designed to help communities become more independent, resilient, and economically competitive. Collaboration with local stakeholders, indigenous leaders, and development partners played a key role in ensuring long-term and measurable social impact.
The Tapare Pararoko Program reflects YPCII’s vision of creating positive social transformation through human-centered development focused on empowerment, self-reliance, and improving the quality of life for communities in Papua.
